Energy_02

Power pylons stand at Maliantai power plant, near Yinchuan, Ningxia province, China, Tuesday, July 11, 2006.

China is the third-greatest energy producer in the world but also the second greatest energy consumer. China's energy demand has been greatly increasing and is expected to grow at about 5% per year through the year 2020. The price of crude oil and other energy greatly depends of Chinese demand. To report on China's energy production, I traveled in Ningxia, Beijing, Xinjiang's Taklamakan desert, and China's crude oil's capital Daqing.
